Desert Boots: Hot or Not?

SJP was caught rocking desert boots in NYC a couple weeks ago and word in the fashion mags is that they're hot business for spring. I'm on the fence - they're either carefree chic or belong on some bare-faced outdoorswoman with a bandana over her hair. I was leaning towards the latter till I found these paint-splattered desert boots by Sam Edelman (Bernadette) on sale for $45. I think the neon splashes give them the art student vibe that's necessary to pass them off as stylish.

Coach Puts Out Younger Cheaper Poppy Line

Coach is about to release a new youth-geared collection of shoes, bags and accessories called Poppy. The price point is lower (starting at $198) and the items incorporate brighter colors and details like sequins.

If I'm going to drop close to $200 for the cheapest bag by a major brand, I'm sure as shit not buying something that looks like it was designed by a clown and is sold at Claire's. Who is their Target market, Teresa's brood of budding Jon Benets on the Real Housewives of New Jersey?

Madison Harding Spring 09 Hotness

I first noticed Madison Harding last fall when I started sweating these motorcycle boots. I couldn't find them anywhere and when I emailed their customer service girl Jill was totally sweet and gave me the lowdown when and where they'd be restocked.
