Although, Beyonce ripped it by herself, without any help from Cirque du Soleil, I had to go with Lady Gaga....look, the gays aren't allowed in the military, can't get married...the least I can do is give them the best performance at the Grammys!

Tacky Programming

Last night BET premiered a new reality show entitled Tiny & Toya. Tiny is the baby mama of jailed rapper T.I, and Toya the ex-wife of rapper Lil Wayne. Buffoon Entertainment Television found these individuals so compelling that they gave them their own show, really? BET should apologize to viewers for not warning us we needed to be fluent in SHEEP speech....This show made someone speaking Ebonics sound like the Queen of England.

What bothers me most about the network is news that Jayz had the talented Chris Brown removed from performing a tribute to Michael Jackson(his idol) at the BET Awards, yet there's no movement to have this low brow, disgraceful programming removed. My favorite line from the show came when Tiny(seen here), stated, "it's hard for Toya to top where she's been, when it comes to a man." Hmmm, well lets see where she's been...
Lil Wayne, high school drop out at 14, arrested for possession of 29 grams of cocaine, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia, and drug sale, and shooting himself with 4.4 caliber gun at age 12......perhaps she meant it would be hard to top so many jail visits.

BET announced earlier this year, plans to start delivering more upscale programs....I guess anything is a step up from their previous shows where viewers were treated to watching singer Mario's mother do drugs on camera, or Keisha Cole's family. However, it's very disappointing to see BET drop the ball on what could have been a great Michael Jackson tribute, and coverage, immediately following his death, to spoon feed viewers disgraceful, tasteless, programming such as Tiny & Toya. "That's What She Said"

Chris Brown Denied

It's rumored that Chris Brown (huge MJ fan) was scheduled to perform a Michael Jackson dance tribute at the BET awards, but Jay Z threatened he and Beyonce would pull out of the show if Chris Brown performed......so, the viewers got stuck with JJ from Good Times walking back and forth, and Beyonce's musical equivalent of NyQuil. We're all familiar with Chris Brown's boxing skills, but here's a clip of the skills that matter!

I caught the opening night of Beyonce's I Am Sasha Fierce tour. I was so excited because it started with an absolute bang, "Crazy in Love", with special guest Jay Z, right into Freakum' Dress, followed by Get me Bodied, which was fitting since those 2 songs sound exactly alike. Thennnnnnnn......boom, absolute snore bomb.....Too many damn slow songs! It was already past my bedtime, and this chick started singing about 6 lullabys in a row...WHAT? After a high octane opening, the show came to a screeching halt, like an inappropriate joke at a funeral, like a red light on a highway, like a virgin...well, not so much. I even thought we were taking part in dog adoptions, when the diva started covering Sarah Mclachlan's Arms of an angel .

A great moment in the show came when Beyonce performed her hit If I Were A Boy, and incorporated it with Alanis Morrisette's You Oughta Know...HOT! However, the moment was lost on me when Beyonce hit the stage dressed like Randy Macho Man Savage with a ridiculous over sized WWE wrestling belt around her waist. There were a few loose ends that went over my head, such as the moment when 3 obese women hit the stage for no apparent reason. I wasn't sure if they were the Pointer Sisters, or "the models" as they kept repeating...strange moment, but if they were the Pointer Sisters...thank goodness they didn't sing Jump!
At one point I feared for Beyonce's safety....no it wasn't when she flew through the air, but when she was singing Etta James' song At Last....um, didn't Etta say she would put her foot in Bey's a** for singing her song?

Ahhhh, the ending was much like the beginning, full of energy and everyone on their feet, which made me realize ....Beyonce really doesn't have that many hits. The "#1 Diva in The Game" performed for less than 2 hours...call me crazy, but Janet is 40+, and performed 3 hours....which raises the question..Is 40 really the new 20?
