Semi-Annual Sale at Victoria's Secret

The Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual sale started online this month (won't be in stores till late June), and many of their own brand's swimsuits are cut down to reasonable prices. As always, I'm a fan of their mix and match styles ($14.50 bottoms and $14.50-$22 tops).

This suit is a particular standout. It has a real retro Bond girl look about it:

Ruched bikini, $31 top and $28 bottom.

Glamour Puts a Little Meat on the Bones

Look at the realness (aside from airbrushing, of course) of Glamour Magazine's most recent swimwear feature model. She looks like someone I'd actually see at a beach in real life, and she looks fabulous and not malnourished. And she's the sole model on a multi-page spread shot by Patrick Demarchelier - and the spread is not entitled "Swimsuits for Curvy Gals" featuring Lane Bryant styles.

I'm not the first whose gut reaction to this spread was not only to be impressed, but also to be relieved. How often is it you look at a swimsuit ad or a feature on beachwear that you don't feel the urge to starve for four days, even if you're rockin a BMI of 19? Can you look at THIS and eat your lunch afterward?

F21 Finally Doing Swimwear

Hey, it can't be any more poorly made than Victoria's Secret shizz...

No exact date on when the new product line launches, but I'll be sure to post the good and the ghastly as soon as it does!

One Cheap Suit

Victoria's Secret had a big clearance sale recently (including $2.99 bikini tops and bottoms!) which unfortunately was completely wiped out before I even got the catalog. Luckily, this fierce bikini is still available and on sale at $30.98 for the set, and comes in white, black or yellow.

A lot of their swimwear is embarassing - emblazoned with stupid text, lame prints and be-dazzling - but this punky number is proof they do have a few good pieces lost in the sea of cheese.
